It's what mom's do!

Hi, my name is Clairessa Renken and I am a stay at home mom. Though some may think that is an easy job, it is not as easy as it looks. Though I would not have it any other way. There is something interesting about staying home with both of my children, but my yongest child is why my husband and I came to the decision that I needed to stay home and care for the children and just recently to start a business.

On June 22, 2009 a beautiful baby girl was born. She had some problems at birth of which no doctor or anyone could figure out untill we were sent to a very wonderful childeren's hospital. We finally found out that those problems were minor and our baby was going to be just fine. What a relief that was to us! However two weeks later we get the shocking news that she had Downsyndrome (Translocation 21).

At first we did not know what to expect, therefore causeing lots of questions to be asked. My husband kept asking the genetics doctor " Will she be able to do this, when she gets to this so and so age" questions. Couldn't believe my ears when I heard the genetic's doctor anwser almost every question he asked with "No" , automatically sterotyping this little child. Then came the big question, (which is a real big question to my husband and it did seem disappointing when he heard her anwser), "Will she be able to go hunting with me when she is old enough"? Again this question was anwsered with a no. With me knowing how each person's disabilty is different, I looked at the doctor and then also at my husband and said "Quit asking her those questions, she can not tell you what she will be able to and will not be able to do!"

Needless to say that made and still makes us more and more determined that she will do all the things that doctor said she wouldn't be able to do.

This is why to this day I am a stay at home mom. So now that little downsyndrome baby girl they said would not be able to do certain things, will be two this June. With thearpy and me staying home and working with her, that same little girl has met every one of her milestones and in some things more, and I will continue to stay at home and see to it that she continues to follow this pattern as she gets older.

Which brings me back to today. Being a stay at home mom is hard at times, especially financially. I have looked all over the internet and everywhere for a stay at home job, the majority of them are scams and will just lose you money. So I kept searching and searching untill I had just given up. Then one day I notice alot of my friends were doing this wrap stuff called It Works. Curious I started asking questions and found that I wanted to join this It Works team.

Though I have just started this business, called It Works, I believe that in the next month or so, or less that I will have made our lives alot easier and will continue to be able to be a stay at home mom.

Good job, Clairessa! God made your little girl very special and gave her a special mom to help her in this life. What a blessing you are to both your girls!
