Whether you're a small-business owner with a business that seems to only be getting smaller or you're a corporate employee feeling like your earning potential is as expansive as the five-foot cubicle you've been crammed into, all too many folks know exactly what it's like to feel completely drained at the end of each hard day at work and yet still have the immense stress of living paycheck to paycheck bearing down on them.
While this tiredness is to be expected since you're likely juggling enough responsibilities and goals to necessitate a few more hands to keep those balls in the air, there's also the distinct possibility that you may need to work smarter, not harder. Even though many of us tend to love following and idolizing the extremely rich and wealthy, burning with an internal desire to be able to enjoy the same easy and opulent lifestyles, a majority of people still maintain the general mode of operation where they invest one unit of energy to produce one unit of results. Call it failing to see the big picture, fear of failure, or a stubborn desire to do everything by oneself, those who don't actively reach out to others will continue exhaustively treading water and likely never reach the gorgeous shores of Golden Retirement Island. Instead, more and more people are looking to network marketing opportunities as a means of achieving financial freedom.
The Power of Leverage
Instead of trudging away at a corporate job or toiling away on a sinking ship of a small business, trading time for money with each hour of work measured in fixed-amount returns, legitimate network marketing opportunities grant you the potential to decide just how successful you'd like to be. This is accomplished through the power of leverage, incorporating the use of team building to create success for yourself on a primary level and then creating downlines by recruiting, training and supporting others as they build underneath you and replicate the process. This builds multiple legs beneath you, creating a solid foundation to continue building your business off of - all while producing multiple units of results from just a single unit of effort. Why do the same thing over and over again when you can have others do it for you?
Is Network Marketing Legitimate Even Though It Creates the Shape of a Pyramid?
Thanks to conversations between Socrates and Plato regarding theories about form as an abstract property or quality, we know that just because an object that has four legs and a flat horizontal surface can be called a table does not necessarily mean that the definition of table is an object with four legs and a flat surface. Similarly, if we take the general property of the pyramid shape created by the tiered downlines of network marketing, separate it from that object, and consider it by itself, we can then look at it for exactly what it is in its pure form.
Countless highly reputable entities throughout our daily lives create the shape of a pyramid, such as the corporate structure (President - Vice President - Manager - General Staff). The difference is that they enjoy a cleaner image because they haven't been marred by the unfortunate scams and unfair compensation plans that have at time surfaced in network marketing. And even though Enron did a fine job of demonstrating the corporate world's susceptibility to massive fraud and corruption, the skepticism revolving around the supreme money making and even passive revenue potential of network marketing continues to make it an outcast of the business world.
As Legitimate as You Make It
The simplest answer in regards to whether or not it is worth investing your time and money into network marketing as a legitimate enterprise is "yes". The slightly less simple answer is "it depends". Investigating individual network marketing companies and exploring specific factors such as how long they've been around, member feedback, fraudulent activity, compensation plans, and member support will help you pick out the most rewarding opportunities.
There's no shame in making money through other people's efforts as long as your network marketing business is centered on an honest product or service, you provide reliable support for your downlines who are building their own businesses beneath you, and you genuinely care about helping others and taking them with you on your way to financial freedom.
