how to build a blog siteYou're ready to take the plunge into the great big wide world of Cyberspace and you want to know how to build a blog site that will make your cash register ring non-stop. That's great, because YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE!

First, let me say that blogging is still alive and well, despite the fact that many say it's dying a death. NOT TRUE! And the other thing that's great is that building a blog site that can give you the INCOME and LIFESTYLE you want is not only possible, but highly likely if you follow this TIME-HONORED method.

How To Build A Blog Site - The Foundation

Ever heard of WordPress? If you've been involved in the online world, and blogging and/or internet marketing in particular, you're probably already familiar with the name at least. But, did you realize just how POWERFUL it is?

But, we're getting ahead of ourselves here. WordPress is probably the FOREMOST content management system (CMS) available online, so, for serious bloggers, this is the place to go. And, incredibly enough, it's also FREE!

But, WAIT - it gets better. Why is WordPress (WP) the best? That's mainly due to its power, flexibility and ease of installation and use.

Installation is a PIECE OF CAKE. Most web hosting companies offer a tool like Fantastico that can be used to create your WP blog in just a COUPLE OF STEPS.

The flexibility comes from the massive number of THEMES, or templates, available that offer features such as 2 or 3 column sites, various types of WIDGETS that allow you to customize the look and feel of your site's sidebar, etc.

The power comes from what are known as PLUGINS, which are programs or functions that enhance the functionality of your blog, from moderating comments to monitoring SEO features.

How To Build A Blog Site - The Content

When people perform a search online, they're usually looking for INFORMATION or a SOLUTION to a problem, and the search engines are built to provide users with the most appropriate answers to their query.

This is where the content of your site comes in. The higher the quality of the content you supply in relation to the query entered, the better your chances of being found on the first page of the SERPs (search engine results pages).

But, that's only part of the equation, because if your content is only pleasing to the search engines, but not informative or interesting and useful to your human visitors, then the chances are the other part of the equation (converting visitors into customers) won't be realized.

So, you have to WAGE WAR on two fronts, writing content that not only gets you NOTICED by the search engines, which is done through the use of appropriate KEYWORDS strategically placed throughout your site, but gives your HUMAN visitors what they came looking for in the first place, which is done by writing QUALITY, USEFUL CONTENT.

How To Build A Blog Site - The Monetization

There are MANY ways to generate income from a blog, and, as long as you've built a site that has all the necessary SEO factors built into it and content that converts visitors into customers, the income potential of your blog could be virtually UNLIMITED.

One of the most popular income generating tactics is to add GOOGLE ADSENSE ads. Google Adsense is CONTEXTUAL advertising, which means that advertisements for products or services are placed on your web site's pages relevant to the content of those pages. You first need to sign up and be approved for a Google Adsense account, which is FREE to do.

Another popular method is IN-TEXT ADVERTISING offered by companies such as Kontera, which uses the text on your page to link to advertise various relevant products or services. Setting up these types of accounts is generally free also.

Promoting either digital or physical products (or both), usually as an affiliate, is also common practice, and can prove to be quite lucrative, depending on the product and the associated commission.

If you follow these tips, you'll be WELL ON YOUR WAY to knowing how to build a blog site that will make your digital cash register ring almost non-stop. But, THE ONLY WAY to get to that point is to take action, so it's time to do that and get your business up and running.
