Have you been thinking on how to give the best health care to your newly acquired puppy? You will need several things to be able to cope with the needs of your pet. Even if these are animals, they do have necessities and preferences. They get sick and they can be in the best of health.

In a dog, you find a friend and a companion. The moment you have it, you should start your responsibility with this animal. As a puppy, it is very susceptible to illness and many die at a young age. This can be avoided if you have a vet take care of it - in sickness as well as in wellness.

Start with wellness. The dog needs vaccination. This will be protection against diseases that can kill it. Just like an infant, a puppy also needs immunizations. One vaccine that should not be forgotten to be given is the vaccine against rabies. The vaccination will entail visit to its vet doctor for the shots.

When ill, they should be immediately brought to the clinic. In case of dangerous illness, it has to remain in the clinic so that the doctor can monitor its condition. Have you seen a dog in an animal hospital with the IV on? There are cases when they have to be operated also. They are treated in the same manner as humans. When you are in the vet clinic, you should be very vocal to the doctor about the different observed behaviors of your dog. You can start asking the doctor the toughest queries about dog's health concerns.

This brings you to the problem on finding the vet for your pet. There may be many veterinarians around but choosing the best among them is you dilemma. Besides, you have also to know the fee collected by each veterinarian for a service rendered to the dog.

Does the doctor have a clinic and is he affiliated to an animal hospital. This is very important because when your pet gets sick, you know where to bring it. And should he be connected to an animal hospital, ask if he can be available anytime in case an emergency involving your dog happens. Will he be at the affiliated hospital when the dog is brought there?

It is paramount that the animal doctor can give the needed service anytime. Again comparing to humans, they can be sick any instant. Actually, the animal is more difficult to handle. It is hard to find its doctor and it does take your time bringing him to and pro the animal doctor and clinic. Even when in good condition, the dog has to visit his doctor. For your part, do not hesitate to question the doctor.
