System Design: Internet Marketing Help For Online Businesses

System design is important; the money is in the systems and this is something I suppose is a little bit near and dear to me. From my past coming from the stock market background and also what we did when we set up our clothing store when we set up a franchise for that., it was all about systems and internet marketing help for me. Very early on, when I got introduced to my business life, I had the idea of systems drummed into me and the importance of it. Really the money is in the system. Those systems are everywhere. Systems surround your life.

A system is a predefined, repeatable process to produce consistent outcomes. Your whole life is a system. The way that you wake up in the morning and what you do, and that order, maybe you wake up, you go for a run, you have something to eat, then you go off to work, then you work your day, that's a system, a process you go through. Then if you look at what is the outcome of that current system, if you look at the system and then relate it to your outcome, if you want a different outcome, make changes in your system and internet marketing resources.

We're all familiar with different systems out there. McDonald's is one of the best examples of a system. The way McDonald's works, they have everything documented to the t, from the way they set up a store to the way it's run. So when they identify a lot, yes, we're going to open up a McDonald's at this particular venue, they have it from breaking ground and building it. That's why one day you can see a spot where you know a McDonald's is going to be built and then a month later or a few weeks later, the McDonald's is complete because they have it down to such a fine art.

Similarly when they're actually running it, how can McDonald's get fifteen year old staff who you can't even get to clean their bedroom to run a multi million dollar business? How do they do that? They've got such amazing systems in place and it goes right down to a very granular detail about how long you cook a patty on one side before you flip it over to the other side. When people talk about systems and internet marketing help in business, a really good place to start if you haven't read it, is The E-Myth.

The E-Myth Revisited is by Michael Gerber. If you haven't read it, go buy it and read it. If you have read it, read it again. You'll read it now on another level and it will just take you up a notch. The E-Myth changed my life. I was lucky enough to get handed that when I started my first business a few years ago. I was able to sell that business in four days. From the decision to sell it to selling it, to getting the cheque, was four days because it was so systematized.

Because of that, I then went and trained with Gerber and became an E-Myth consultant. I paid a lot of money to be able to use the name E-Myth. It is an MBA in small business. It's all about how can I create a process that I don't have to run. Any problem in your business it's nobody's fault. Anything that goes wrong is a system's problem. It's never that person's fault for the most part. Yes, systems run your business. The E-Myth is all about the systems run your business, the people run your systems. Create one as if you're going to create five thousand.

So Gerber calls it the franchise prototype. You build it as if you were going to franchise it, even if you never are, never planning to, you build it as if you are.

Michael Gerber is like the guru's guru when it comes to systematizing business specifically. Systems are everywhere, whether you're conscious of it or not conscious of it. I think a lot of people often, you might look at trading is a really good example. Someone might look at an amazing trader. From the outside they can appear to be a very intuitive trader. They're buying at a certain price, they're selling at another price and it might feel like when they're looking at a chart to decide when they're going to buy and when they're going to sell, that it's an intuitive behaviour.

Often you'll find that the very successful traders, what they've done is they've internalized their system. Michael Gerber's Influence In Small Business Internet Marketing Ventures. They've done it so much, that to the outside eye it could look incredibly easy but there's a great deal of work in designing that internet marketing help and system to get them up to a point where they felt comfortable that they could trade that system.
