Setting your own business seems like an exciting and privileged position to be and many find the idea of being their own boss alluring.

Of course, launching your own boss is more than swanning around and occasionally sending an e mail. It does mean that you have to take everything seriously and take every opportunity to bring in business just to keep your company afloat. It can be very stressful and is not for the faint hearted.

Still determined to set up on your own? So what's first? I hear you ask. Following an idea/ amazing product/ outstanding service idea, you need to set up your accounts. Of course, for this, most people will need an accountant and there are many options out there. Try to choose someone outside of your normal circle of friends/family as it's best to keep business and private life essential.

There are some excellent online options that may make the process more efficient. Once you know how much money is accessible to you, you'll be able to start offering your business offering to people (and know how much, initially, it's going to cost you to launch your first product/ provide your service).

Everyone will tell you the key to setting up a successful business is planning. Market research, business plans and much more are key components to any business - so make sure you have them!

Next is find your first bit of business! Perhaps think about starting up an introductory offer to begin with to get some consistent business and some positive reviews.

If you want a low cost promotion tool, look at getting a website. Where I live there are a lot of options to choose from. It can be quite a low cost solution to getting your name and proposition out there but if you really want to make a mark in the competitive south east region, you might need to invest in some search engine optimistion company in Kent or London.

Once you have chosen your business try to follow a simple daily routine, limit yourself to a set time, so the time you do spend is going to be the most focused, enabling you to get more work done in a shorter period of time.

It's hard work - the key is do a lot, in a set timeframe, every day and you will be surprised at the work you have done. Most importantly, you have to remember persistence, persistence persistence. The path to running a successful business is not easy but it is possible, so keep at it!
